Very noisy (reluctant) indoor MeeZer

OHMYGOD! Will I ever get a full night sleep again? The whole complicated story was posted on the Animal behavior tribe:
tinyurl.com/aqdnn

Franky has been back home with us for four nights now. We're keeping him locked in at least for a couple weeks (or for as long as we can stand it!) in the hopes that he will start to recognize our house as "home" again or at the very least it's "the place with the food".

Nights 1 & 2 were all about growling and snarling and huffing about. The past two nights he's calmed down quite a bit (thanks to Rescue Remedy and Felaway) and now it's constant meowing in all pitches, volumes and ranges all.... night....long. Oh, and lets not forget hours and hours of scratching in the litter box!

I know some of you in this tribe keep your kitties indoors all the time. And I know most meezers are chatty. So I have to ask; how do you sleep?

well meezers are super affectionate as well as chatty... mine do the same thing but they've learned that if i'm in bed and they come visit they'll get some attention. next thing they're purring and then asleep. if yours is a cuddly one, take him to bed w/ you. sometimes they just wonder where you are... good luck!

funny, b/c although my meezers were chatty, I was lucky & it didn't happen at night.........when ANY cat is switched from an outdoors to an indoors there will be a difficult period of adjustment..........I want a Siamese, so if you can't take it, I'll gladly

My Meezer is extremely vocal. I mean REALLY vocal. 24/7. After about six months, you get used to it and you can sleep again ;O) My cat went from an outdoor cat rescue shelter to being an indoor kitty, so maybe that was part of it. Also Sasha is extremely active, and needs a lot of playtime. I've found that if we play mouse fetch for at least 30 minutes every night, she'll sleep fairly sound.

Now I'm so used to her chattiness that when she's gone, my apartment seems deathly silent. I miss her running commentary.
